What Is a Diamond-Coated Pan?

In many ways, they are indestructible, which makes them the perfect non-stick coating for pots, pans, and other kitchen pieces. Diamond-coated pans are also easy to use and clean, but keep in mind that they are usually more expensive than other types of non-stick cookware. Nevertheless, it lasts so long that it is well worth the price in the end.

What Is a Ceramic-Coated Pan?

Ceramic-coated non-stick pans are easy to use and even easier to clean, requiring no special cleaning tools or chemicals. Ceramic cookware has no harmful chemicals in it, and it tends to be cheaper than some other types of cookware, including cast iron. Like most non-stick cookware, you should try to avoid metal utensils when cooking on it. It is scratch-resistant but not totally scratch-proof.

Differences Between Diamond-Coated and Ceramic-Coated Pans

Diamond cookware is usually more expensive than ceramic cookware, given how tough and reliable it is. While both are scratch-resistant and quite tough, they can scratch on rare occasions, especially if you use metal tools and you aren’t careful. This is less likely with diamond. They are made to withstand a lot of abuse and keep on going.

As far as the heat conductive properties go, diamond cookware wins again. Diamond cookware can conduct heat five times more than silver, which is phenomenal. Still, ceramic cookware conducts heat very well.

Both of these are made with non-toxic materials, and both are durable, but if you want the absolute best type of cookware and you can afford it, going with cookware made with diamond coatings is always the smartest option.

Whenever possible, use non-metal utensils with your pans so that you don’t scratch them.

In reality, many pots and pans made out of ceramic actually have an aluminum core and are simply coated with several layers of ceramic, but it’s enough to keep the cookware sturdy and durable for many years. Both diamond and ceramic non-stick cookware are durable and very attractive and come in various colors that can match the decor of your kitchen. In the end, however, while both of these types of cookware are high in quality, diamond cookware will always be better and will last longer.

Recommended Diamond-Coated Cookware

If you’re interested in diamond cookware, look into Blue Diamond or Swiss Diamond. Despite its name, Blue Diamond has cookware in other colors besides blue, and both brands make lots of different pieces, including pots and pans of all sizes, griddles, and even sets that have a host of cooking pieces in case you want to immediately start cooking your favorite dishes.

While diamond cookware is a lot sturdier than ceramic, both are excellent choices if you do a lot of cooking.
